Vladimir Komarov (Punk TV) and Moscow’s Revoltmeter join forces in a trans-Atlantic collaboration
Vladimir, frontman of a cult electro-rock outfit from Novosibirsk, relocated to New York to reinvent and relaunch his long-standing relationship with co-conspirators Revoltmeter. Formerly, collaborations were limited to remixes and lyrics. A fresh breath of Manhattan air inspired Vladimir to give new life to Revoltmeter’s ‘Russian epic electronica’ by morphing their instrumental piece into a song. “Death Electric” is a dancefloor blend of vintage late-80’s synth sounds and post-punk guitars.
Punk TV leader’s arrangement, guitar parts and trademark vocals seamlessly mold with the riff and lyrics by Revoltmeter. A fast email duel of ideas culminated with a studio session in Moscow – the only time the co-authors left virtual reality was to record vocals. “Death Electric” has been remixed by Pinballsound and Sergey Ledovsky.
The release includes another Revoltmeter track remixed by Vladimir Komarov, “Love Under Control”.
